The Washington Commanders secured a win during Wild Card Weekend, beating the Tampa Bay Buccaneers 23-20 to move on to the Divisional Round of the playoffs.

Interestingly, their most recent playoff victory also came against the Buccaneers, back in 2005, making this win even more satisfying.

Now, the Commanders are set to face off against a formidable 15-2 Detroit Lions team, a dominant force during the regular season, though they’ve recently dealt with a few key injuries. For the 12-5 Commanders, it’s shaping up to be a challenging road game, but rookie quarterback Jayden Daniels is more than ready for the tough task ahead.

With an early start to practice ahead of Saturday’s game, the Commanders released their first injury report for the upcoming matchup. Here’s the breakdown:

Non-participants:

  • WR Jamison Crowder, hamstring/rest
  • TE Zach Ertz, rib/rest
  • DE Clelin Ferrell, knee/rest
  • OLB Dante Fowler Jr., rest
  • LB Jordan Magee, hamstring
  • LB Bobby Wagner, ankle

Limited participants:

  • K Zane Gonzalez, hip
  • DT Daron Payne, finger

As the team fights through the playoffs, many of these injuries are being closely managed to ensure players are ready for the crucial game against one of the Super Bowl favorites.
