PITTSBURGH (AP) — Left-handed pitcher Tim Mayza and the Pittsburgh Pirates reached a one-year, $1.15 million deal on Monday. Last season, Mayza recorded a 0-2 record with a 6.33 ERA in 50 relief appearances for the Toronto Blue Jays and New York Yankees.

PITTSBURGH (AP) — Left-handed pitcher Tim Mayza has signed a one-year, $1.15 million contract with the Pittsburgh Pirates, it was announced on Monday.

Last season, Mayza posted a 0-2 record with a 6.33 ERA in 50 relief appearances for the Toronto Blue Jays and New York Yankees. He did, however, pitch three scoreless innings during the postseason with the Yankees.

At 33 years old, Mayza has a career record of 20-9 with a 3.88 ERA and four saves across seven seasons with Toronto (2017-2024) and New York. After undergoing Tommy John surgery in September 2019, he made his MLB return in April 2021.

The Pirates also designated infielder Alika Williams for assignment.
