The No. 2 Duke Blue Devils are on a roll and widely considered the top team in the nation, with freshman standout Cooper Flagg leading the way on both offense and defense.

Flagg recently delivered an outstanding performance that felt like a homecoming, playing against the Boston College Eagles in front of a large crowd of family members from his home state of Maine.

Duke claimed an 88-63 win, stretching their winning streak to 12 games and improving their season record to 16-2. Flagg contributed 28 points, five rebounds, four assists, two steals, and two blocks.

After his dominant performance against Boston College and another impressive showing against the Miami Hurricanes, Flagg was named ACC Rookie of the Week for the third straight week.

This season, Flagg has been a standout for the Blue Devils, doing it all on the court. Despite Duke’s deep and talented roster, the projected first-round pick in the upcoming NBA draft leads the team in points, rebounds, assists, steals, blocks, and minutes played.

Flagg is putting up impressive numbers, averaging 19.2 points, 8.1 rebounds, 4.1 assists, 1.6 steals, and 1.2 blocks per game, while shooting 48.8% from the field and 34.8% from beyond the arc.

Following the win over Boston College, Flagg expressed how meaningful it was to have so many supporters, including his family, travel from Duke to cheer him on in what will be the closest game to his hometown of Newport, Maine, all season.

“It’s huge, the level of support. Just seeing them show up and support me means a lot,” Flagg said. “It gives me a lot of confidence. Coming from Maine, it’s easy to doubt yourself or think you can’t achieve big things. I just want to keep proving that where you’re from doesn’t matter. As long as you stay dedicated and keep working, anything is possible.”
