The Tennessee Vols have made it to the top four for one of the most highly sought-after recruits in the 2026 class.
Five-star defensive back Brian Womack, a 6-foot, 195-pound athlete from Brandon, MS, listed Tennessee among his final four schools this week, alongside Alabama, Ohio State, and Texas A&M.
Womack is ranked as the No. 2 safety and the No. 2 player in Mississippi by 247Sports’ composite rankings, and is also the No. 19 overall player in the 2026 recruiting class.
Womack shared with On3 that he intends to visit each of his top four schools officially and make his commitment in August.
“Tennessee has been recruiting me for a while, and Coach (Josh) Heupel along with the entire defensive staff stay in regular contact,” Womack said to On3 about his interest in the Volunteers. “I really appreciate the relationships I’ve built with the people there.”
Womack told Rivals.com that Tennessee was his first offer and that he can envision himself fitting into the Vols’ defense.
Although he grew up cheering for Ohio State, which could pose a challenge for Tennessee, the Vols remain a strong contender in the race for Womack’s commitment.
