Breaking News: Michigan Football Target Set to Make Game-Changing Decision After Wolverines BBQ Visit

Michigan football has gradually built a strong 2025 recruiting class, securing their 16th commitment on Saturday with three-star wide receiver Phillip Wright. Despite being one of the lower-ranked commitments, Wright has the potential to exceed his ranking. Both LSU and Georgia showed late interest in him.

New secondary coach Lamar Morgan has made significant strides, flipping top-100 defensive backs Ivan Taylor from Notre Dame and Kainoa Winston. Now, Morgan is focusing on cornerback, with Jayden Sanders emerging as a top target. Sanders is scheduled for an official visit to Michigan for the annual recruiting BBQ at the end of July and has indicated he will decide shortly after.

The 6-foot-2, 175-pound cornerback from Kilgore, Texas, ranked No. 317 in the 2025 class, is also considering Baylor, TCU, Vanderbilt, and Oklahoma State. Despite this competition, Michigan’s NIL improvements and the upcoming visit give the Wolverines a strong chance. The On3 prediction machine gives Michigan a 93 percent chance of landing Sanders, potentially adding the 14th blue-chip recruit to their 2025 class.
