Breaking News: Vancouver Canucks’ Brock Boeser Signs Five-Year Contract Extension
Vancouver, BC – May 13, 2025
The Vancouver Canucks have locked in a key piece of their core for the long haul. Star winger Brock Boeser has signed a five-year contract extension with the team, solidifying his future in Vancouver and signaling the organization’s continued commitment to building a competitive roster.
The new deal is reportedly worth $33.5 million, carrying an average annual value (AAV) of $6.7 million. Boeser, 28, was set to become an unrestricted free agent this summer but opted to stay with the team that drafted him 23rd overall in the 2015 NHL Entry Draft.
“This is home for me,” Boeser said in a press release issued by the team. “The Canucks believed in me from the beginning, and I believe in where we’re headed. I’m excited to be part of this group moving forward.”
Boeser is coming off a career-best season, recording 40 goals and 35 assists for 75 points in 78 games. His scoring touch, combined with improved two-way play, made him a cornerstone in Vancouver’s push toward playoff contention this past season.
Canucks General Manager Patrik Allvin praised Boeser’s dedication and growth: “Brock has shown he can be a difference-maker. He’s developed into a leader on and off the ice, and we’re thrilled to have him remain a big part of this team’s future.”
Boeser’s extension ensures the Canucks will retain a potent top-six forward as they look to build around a strong core that includes Elias Pettersson, Quinn Hughes, and Thatcher Demko.
With Boeser now under contract through the 2029-30 season, the Canucks’ front office has taken a significant step in solidifying its roster. Fans will be watching closely as the team turns its attention to further roster improvements this offseason.
