Hibs Loan Star for Big Money Move After Easter Road Stint

Former Hibs striker Myziane Maolida is set for a lucrative transfer to the Saudi Pro League following his impressive loan spell at Easter Road last season. The 25-year-old forward, who joined Edinburgh on loan from 2. Bundesliga side Hertha Berlin in January, scored 10 goals in the Scottish Premiership under former head coach Nick Montgomery. With his contract in Germany ending, Maolida has been evaluating his options this summer. According to transfer expert Fabrizio Romano, he has chosen to move to the Middle East and has already completed a medical with Saudi club Al Kholood, bringing the transfer closer to completion.

Former Celtic Star Secures EPL Trial

Scotland international midfielder Stuart Armstrong is on the verge of a move to the English Premier League after impressing during a trial with Brentford. The 32-year-old scored five goals for Southampton in the EFL Championship last season, helping the Saints return to the top flight. Armstrong, now a free agent, has attracted interest from Serie A side Fiorentina but recently played in Brentford’s 5-2 win over AFC Wimbledon, catching the eye of Bees head coach Thomas Frank. “Great experience, great player, great career,” said Frank. Armstrong has been training with Brentford, and Frank hinted that they might sign him permanently.

Celtic Set Price for In-Demand Midfielder Matt O’Riley

Celtic have made it clear they will not be pressured into selling midfielder Matt O’Riley this summer. Sky Sports reports that Italian club Atalanta recently made a second bid of around £14.3 million plus add-ons for the Denmark international. Juventus, Atletico Madrid, and Roma are also interested. However, Celtic are holding out for £26 million. Manager Brendan Rodgers emphasized the club’s strong position, stating, “Matt’s been at the club for three years, he’s developed into the player he has and he knows the privilege it is to play for Celtic.” O’Riley is under contract until 2027, so Celtic are not in a hurry to sell.

Scotland Striker Che Adams Moves to Serie A

Scotland international Che Adams has opted for a surprise move to Italian side Torino, rejecting offers to return to the EPL. Adams, who played in all three of Scotland’s Euro 2024 games, was a free agent after leaving Southampton, where he scored 16 goals in the EFL Championship last season. Nottingham Forest and Wolverhampton Wanderers were keen on signing him, and Southampton hoped to extend his stay. However, Adams has signed a three-year contract with Torino, who aim to qualify for European competitions after finishing ninth in Serie A last season.

Rangers Change Stance on Lawrence Shankland

Rangers manager Philippe Clement may be reconsidering a move for Hearts striker Lawrence Shankland. According to the Daily Record, Clement, who had previously decided against signing the 24-goal striker in January, is now keen to test Hearts’ resolve. Shankland, 28, was the top scorer in the Scottish Premiership last season and has been linked with a move to Ibrox. The Tynecastle club insists no bid has been made so far. Rangers will push for a bid if they can generate sufficient transfer funds in the coming weeks. Hearts are reportedly seeking around £3 million for Shankland, despite him being in the final year of his contract.
