Celtic have intensified their efforts in the transfer market, recently securing two new goalkeepers, Kasper Schmeichel and Viljami Sinisalo.

In addition, manager Brendan Rodgers is keen to retain midfielder Paulo Bernardo, who spent last season on loan at the club from Benfica.

Talks with Benfica have resulted in a fee of £3.3 million being agreed, with the Portuguese club also set to receive 30% of any future sale.

The terms have been verbally agreed, but the paperwork for the transfer still needs to be signed.

Paulo Bernardo now looks almost certain to play for Celtic again next season. The Portuguese midfielder made 33 appearances for Celtic across all competitions last season, contributing four goals and three assists. He will undoubtedly aim to improve on these numbers in the upcoming campaign.
