Plymouth Argyle have set a £15 million valuation for the 23-year-old, whose contract runs until 2027, giving them a strong position in negotiations. Despite the high price, Rangers’ interest is significant and could lead to a renewed effort to secure his signature.

Whittaker, a standout player for Plymouth, offers versatility with his ability to play across the frontline and in midfield. With Wayne Rooney now managing Plymouth, he will be keen to retain his key attacker amid interest from various clubs.
