Souths snare promising young centre; Canberra flyer’s Catalans move confirmed: Transfer Centre..read more

South Sydney have secured Fletcher Myers, a 21‑year‑old centre previously with the Newcastle Knights. Myers joined the Rabbitohs mid‑2024 on a development deal that runs through the end of the 2025 season. The big-bodied outside back brings physicality and skill to their outside‑back depth.

Meanwhile, the Canberra Raiders’ dynamic winger Nick Cotric has confirmed his Super League move to Catalans Dragons, set to commence in the upcoming European season. Cotric’s departure marks a significant shift for the Raiders’ backline options.

Brandon Smith, the Kiwi hooker, has signed a two‑year deal with South Sydney for 2026–27. However, following an early release from the Roosters, Smith is now joining the Rabbitohs early and is expected to be available for selection later in the 2025 season once his ACL injury allows.

These moves highlight South Sydney’s strategic recruitment drive—adding emerging young talent like Myers alongside immediate hooks and creative depth from Smith, and adapting to shifts in clubs like Canberra as players head overseas.
