Toronto Maple Leafs forward Mitch Marner and his wife, Stephanie, have revealed they are expecting a baby boy.

The news was shared by Gaby, wife of fellow Leafs player Jake McCabe, via her Instagram.

In two photos posted by Leafs Latest on X, Gaby celebrated the exciting news, while Stephanie showed off her baby bump with Marner’s hands placed gently on her belly.

Gaby’s post also confirmed the gender of their first child—a boy. With this announcement, Marner, 27, is set to join the Maple Leafs’ growing club of new parents, which already includes teammate Morgan Rielly, who recently welcomed a child with his wife, Olympic gold medalist Tessa Virtue.

The Marner couple, who tied the knot on July 29, 2023, at Peller Estates in Niagara-on-the-Lake, are now eagerly anticipating their next chapter as parents.

This announcement comes after an eventful few weeks for Mitch Marner, who played a pivotal role in leading Team Canada to victory at the 4 Nations Face-Off, where they defeated Team USA, captained by his teammate Auston Matthews.

Marner was instrumental in the tournament, assisting on Connor McDavid’s game-winning goal in overtime to secure the championship against the USA.

The Maple Leafs forward, who NHL insider Bob McKenzie predicts will reach free agency next July, celebrated the victory with his wife and family, acknowledging their sacrifices in helping him get to this point in his career.

“It was really special,” Marner said. “It’s been a long time since we’ve been able to celebrate something really special, and hockey-wise, winning.

“It felt really cool just to have them around me, considering how much sacrifice and effort they’ve put in throughout my whole life to help me reach where I am today.”

Marner is in the final season of his six-year, $65 million contract and has continued to perform at a high level for Toronto, accumulating 71 points through 55 games in the first part of the regular season.
