Devastating news for the Toronto Blue Jays as one of their pitchers tears his meniscus during Spring Training and is now set to undergo surgery.

This morning, pitcher Max Scherzer discussed the dangers of Spring Training, emphasizing that if pitchers aren’t properly prepared, they risk serious injury. Later in the day, the Toronto Blue Jays announced that pitcher Adam Macko has torn his meniscus. After experiencing discomfort in his left knee, Macko underwent an MRI, which confirmed that he will require surgery.
This is a tough blow for Adam Macko, who is considered one of the Blue Jays’ top pitching prospects. If surgery is required, he’ll miss the first few months of the season while recovering. While there’s a small possibility he may avoid surgery, the most likely outcome is that he’ll be sidelined for a while.
