QPR has made a splash in the transfer market by securing two new wingers: Koko Saito and Karamoko Dembélé. This move comes as a boost for the London club following their 3-1 loss to West Brom on the opening weekend of the Championship season.
The announcement came on Tuesday afternoon, with head coach Marti Cifuentes finally adding some much-needed attacking options. Although QPR has been active this summer, they were in need of replacements for Chris Willock and additional offensive depth.
Saito joins Loftus Road for the 2024/25 season, primarily as a left winger. He’ll bring competition to Ilias Chair and young Rayan Kolli, who featured against the Baggies. The 23-year-old arrives from a loan stint at Sparta Rotterdam and was part of Japan’s squad at the Paris Olympics. Saito is eager to contribute to QPR with his dribbling, chance creation, and goal-scoring abilities.
Alongside Saito, Dembélé arrives on a season-long loan from Brest. This signing is a significant gain for QPR, as the 21-year-old was also pursued by Birmingham City and Derby County, according to transfer expert Alan Nixon. Dembélé, who impressed on loan at Blackpool last season, can play on the right wing or behind the striker. He’s excited about his new opportunity at QPR and was drawn to the club after positive discussions with head coach Martí Cifuentes and Christian Nourry.
