Dan Bardell believes Rangers will sell Sam Lammers after his return to Utrecht fell through.

The Daily Record reported on 18 July that the Dutchman priced himself out of a permanent move after his initial loan spell ended.

The 27-year-old demanded a yearly wage of £1.25 million (£24,000 a week), which would make him the Eredivisie side’s highest-paid player.

Sky Sports and talkSPORT journalist Bardell suggested that the Gers will look to move him on to another club during the transfer window.

Speaking exclusively to Ibrox News, Bardell said: “Lammers is seen as surplus to requirements at Rangers.

“They wouldn’t be trying to move him on if that wasn’t the case. You’ll see them try to work with other clubs and his agent to try and move him on as quickly as possible.

“He obviously has no future at Ibrox. They’ll have to see if there is a market for him.“

The PSV academy product looked set to be returning to the Netherlands after his loan spell, but that is no longer the case.

His future at Ibrox now appears to be over, with Philippe Clement not rating the versatile attacker to play a role in his squad next season.

This will likely see Lammers move on this summer, although it remains unclear where he could end up.

The Gers will be desperate to secure a positive transfer fee for the 27-year-old, which could enable them to intensify their summer rebuild ahead of the season’s start.
