Breaking News: Detroit Lions promote two defensive players for the Bills game.

The Detroit Lions announced on Saturday that they are elevating two linebackers, Abraham Beauplan and Jamal Adams, for Sunday’s matchup against the Buffalo Bills.

Although the team is getting several defensive linemen back this week—Josh Paschal, Levi Onwuzurike, DJ Reader, and Alim McNeill—the linebacker position remains a concern due to injuries. Alex Anzalone, Derrick Barnes, Malcolm Rodriguez, and Jalen Reeves-Maybin are still on injured reserve, and Trevor Nowaske has been placed in concussion protocol, making him unavailable for the game.

This means that for the second week in a row, Adams will be part of the active roster. The 10-year veteran, who signed with the Lions’ practice squad two weeks ago, has been working with the linebackers, despite his background as a safety. In last week’s game against the Packers, Adams played eight defensive snaps, all in the box, and recorded one tackle.

Beauplan, who has been frequently moved between the practice squad and the active roster this season, will make his third appearance on game day. He was active in Weeks 9 and 10 but only participated on special teams, without taking any defensive snaps in an NFL game.

With Adams and Beauplan added, the Lions’ linebacker corps for the Bills game will consist of Jack Campbell, Kwon Alexander, David Long Jr., Ezekiel Turner, Ben Niemann, Adams, and Beauplan.
