DETROIT (FOX 2) – The Detroit Lions’ recent success has led to a significant rise in season ticket prices for 2025. After years of relatively low prices, the cost of tickets will increase for the second consecutive year, reflecting the team’s newfound status as one of the NFL’s top contenders.

Just two years ago, Lions tickets were among the most affordable in the league, but that is changing as demand grows. The team insists that the price hikes aren’t intended to push fans out, though many long-time supporters, like Shane Sperling, worry they could be priced out of attending games.

Sperling, for example, faces a 35% increase in his season tickets, which translates to an extra $1,000 next season. A team spokesperson explained that the increase is designed to stabilize the secondary ticket market, where resale prices have surged. For the upcoming game against Buffalo, resale prices range from $335 to $374 on platforms like StubHub, SeatGeek, and Ticketmaster.

This price jump follows the first increase in five years, which took effect in 2023. Despite this, the Lions still had some of the cheapest single-game tickets in their division last year. The team is also offering assistance to season ticket holders who may need to find more affordable seating options.

Sperling, who has held tickets since the Stafford era, says the new prices could force him to move to a less expensive section. While he plans to attend any home playoff games, he may look to sell individual tickets in 2025 to help offset the higher cost.
