Former Toronto Blue Jays outfielder Kevin Kiermaier, who recently announced his retirement, shared a heartfelt message for Blue Jays fans on social media.

“To the Blue Jays fans: I love you. I love you so much. From the very beginning, the way you treated me—it was a dream come true. Thank you from the bottom of my heart…”

Kiermaier has often expressed his fondness for his time in Toronto. In an interview with the Toronto Star earlier in November, he mentioned his desire to remain connected to the organization.

“I loved my time with Toronto,” he shared. “It was truly special. I hope I can stay involved with the Jays in some capacity forever. They gave me so much, and even though I was there for just a year and a half, I feel a deep connection to them. I feel like they love me too.”

The 34-year-old concluded his career on a high note, winning the World Series with the Los Angeles Dodgers after being traded from Toronto at the trade deadline.

Kiermaier spent a decade with the Tampa Bay Rays, helping them reach the World Series in 2020 before joining the Blue Jays in 2023 and re-signing for 2024. Despite batting .197 this season across both teams, Kiermaier’s career highlights include a .246 lifetime batting average, two seasons hitting .263 (2014 and 2015), and four Gold Glove Awards, one of which he earned with the Blue Jays in 2023.
