Ahead of the Mexican Grand Prix, Max Verstappen left a presenter briefly stunned with a playful four-word remark during a pre-race event.
Verstappen enters the race at the Autodromo Hermanos Rodriguez with a commanding 57-point lead over McLaren’s Lando Norris in the Drivers’ Championship. With five races remaining, along with two sprint events, he’s well on track to claim his fourth consecutive title.
The Mexican Grand Prix is also the home race for Verstappen’s Red Bull teammate, Sergio Perez. As part of the race build-up, the pair joined in on several promotional activities. During one game, they attempted to hit a target with Velcro-covered footballs. Perez managed to score points, but Verstappen missed some shots, leading him to joke, “My balls didn’t stick!”
Amused, the presenter laughed and replied, “Your what?” Perez added, “You listen too much to what Jorge Campos says,” referencing the former Mexican goalkeeper.
With Verstappen looking to break his Grand Prix dry spell after winning the sprint in Austin, he’ll face stiff competition from McLaren and Ferrari. Meanwhile, Perez aims to make a strong showing at his home track as Red Bull reportedly evaluates his future, considering drivers like Liam Lawson and Yuki Tsunoda as possible replacements.
