A Maple Leafs reporter has shared an update on veteran forward Max Pacioretty after he sustained an injury during the team’s 6-2 loss to the Columbus Blue Jackets. While the game was largely underwhelming, one positive note was Nicholas Robertson breaking his six-game scoring drought. However, the Leafs faced a setback when Pacioretty left the game in the second period with a lower-body injury.
Fortunately for Maple Leafs fans, the injury isn’t as serious as initially feared. Nick Alberga reported on X:
“Doesn’t sound like it’s anything serious for Max Pacioretty. Day-to-day.”
Pacioretty has made a solid contribution since joining the Maple Leafs, with two goals in five games. Despite struggling with consistent playing time early in the season, the 35-year-old is adapting to his role as a mentor. He acknowledges the frustration of watching games from the press box but has embraced his leadership position.
With his low cap hit and ability to provide secondary scoring, Pacioretty remains a valuable asset for the Leafs. If he can stay healthy and productive, he may secure a more regular spot in the lineup.
