Collingwood is reportedly preparing to meet with Western Bulldogs legend Robert Murphy to discuss bringing him to the AIA Centre for a significant off-field role.

The club has undergone substantial changes, with president Jeff Browne, assistant coach Brendan Bolton, and list manager Graham Wright all leaving.

Following their 2023 premiership, Collingwood is restructuring its football department and considering Murphy for a role after missing out on Port Adelaide’s Chris Davies and Brisbane’s Danny Daly, as per Jay Clark from the Herald Sun.

CEO Craig Kelly is also exploring the possibility of bringing in Adelaide list manager Justin Reid.

Murphy, who captained the Bulldogs through 312 games, recently returned to Victoria after a three-year stint at Fremantle, where he held various roles including head of football and performance.

Highly respected for guiding the Bulldogs from the bottom of the ladder to their 2016 premiership, Murphy, though sidelined by a torn ACL, received coach Luke Beveridge’s premiership medallion in a touching gesture.
