“Report: Chiefs Eyeing Trade with Jets as Injuries Hit Hard, Straining Depth”

The Kansas City Chiefs are monitoring the New York Jets for a potential trade opportunity. According to ESPN’s NFL Insider Adam Schefter, if the Jets manage to acquire Raiders WR Davante Adams, the Chiefs could explore trading for one of New York’s other wide receivers.

NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport also noted that the Chiefs might look to the trade market for a wide receiver, specifically targeting players with manageable base salaries. Several Jets receivers, like Xavier Gipson ($915,000), Malachi Corley ($795,000), and Mike Williams ($1.25 million), could fit that bill.

Schefter pointed out that the Jets have draft picks and assets available for a possible Adams trade, including two 2025 third-round and sixth-round picks, as well as WR Mike Williams, who has a connection to Raiders GM Tom Telesco from his time as Chargers GM.

CBS NFL Insider Jonathan Jones believes that Williams is the most likely player to be traded if the Jets land Adams.

Another player to watch is rookie WR Malachi Corley, who was a healthy scratch for Week 5 against the Vikings. Corley, who has struggled to make an impact with just two offensive snaps this season, may be a trade candidate if things don’t improve, especially if the Jets secure Adams.
