Chris Davies is determined to turn Birmingham City’s first League One loss of the season into a pivotal lesson for his players. The Blues faced a setback against Charlton Athletic, who handed them a 1-0 defeat at The Valley, with Matty Godden netting the decisive goal in the 54th minute.
With two weeks until their next League One clash, the team will have time to regroup, facing Shrewsbury Town in the Bristol Street Motors Trophy on Tuesday after addressing their recent performance.
Davies commented, “From my point of view, as I said to the players, they’ve had an excellent start with what they’ve achieved. But as I’ve emphasized from day one, this is a very tough league. If you think you’re better than League One, it can become a real challenge.”
He continued, “I’m not implying that they believe that, but we must be prepared for difficult matches at grounds like this. We need to reflect on this experience and come back stronger.”
