Christian Horner left ‘vulnerable’ as Red Bull chief warned after Jos Verstappen comments

Christian Horner, the Red Bull team principal, has faced heavy criticism this season. Guenther Steiner recently warned that Horner’s role could become “vulnerable” if Red Bull’s struggles persist. Jos Verstappen has also publicly criticized Horner following a tough result in Singapore.

Red Bull is under pressure as they prepare an upgrade package for the United States Grand Prix. Despite dominating early in the season, they have now gone winless in eight races and trail McLaren by 41 points in the Constructors’ Championship. Max Verstappen’s once secure lead in the Drivers’ Championship is being chipped away by Lando Norris, who now has the best car and strong team support.

Adding to Red Bull’s challenges, departures of key figures such as Adrian Newey, Jonathan Wheatley, and Will Courtenay have raised doubts about Horner’s future. Speaking on the Red Flags podcast, former Haas boss Steiner said, “When you’re winning, everything is fine, but once you stop, you become vulnerable.”

Jos Verstappen has also voiced concerns over Horner’s leadership as his son’s fourth championship title is now at risk.
