Derby County Set to Face Sunderland Without Key Player Callum Elder

Derby County’s upcoming Championship clash with Sunderland on Tuesday has taken a hit as manager Paul Warne has confirmed that left-back Callum Elder will miss the match due to injury. The Rams’ manager revealed in a press conference that Elder is expected to be sidelined for three to four games.

Elder, who has been an integral part of Derby’s defense this season, picked up the injury during a training session earlier this week. The Australian defender’s absence will undoubtedly be felt, as he has been a consistent performer for the Rams since joining the club. Warne expressed his disappointment but remained hopeful that Elder would return to action soon.

“We’re gutted to lose Callum at this crucial stage. He’s a vital part of our squad, but we have to manage without him for the next few games,” Warne said.

Derby will need to adjust their defensive setup as they face a tough test against Sunderland, who are in good form. The Rams, however, remain confident that they can cope with the loss and are working on tactical changes to ensure their backline remains solid.

The injury setback comes at a time when Derby is pushing to climb up the Championship table. Fans will be eager to see how Warne’s side performs in the absence of one of their key defenders, with eyes on potential replacements in the lineup.

Derby County will need to rally together as they look to secure a vital three points against Sunderland without Elder’s presence on the pitch.
