Oklahoma continued its 2025 recruiting momentum on Saturday by securing a commitment from four-star safety Omarion Robinson.

The 6-foot, 171-pound defensive back is the 21st commitment in the Sooners’ 2025 class and the ninth defensive player. Robinson, from Little Rock, chose Oklahoma over offers from Arkansas, Oregon, and LSU. He is ranked as the No. 26 safety in the class and the No. 2 player in Arkansas. Oklahoma has been eyeing Robinson since January 2023, when they extended a scholarship offer.

Head coach Brent Venables and defensive backs coach Brandon Hall prioritized Robinson as a key defensive target, and their efforts paid off with his commitment. Robinson joins a strong group of safeties in Oklahoma’s 2025 class, which includes four-star prospects Marcus Wimberly and Trynae Washington (listed as an athlete), and three-star safety Courtland Guillory. Wimberly is also from Arkansas. The class features two cornerbacks: four-star Trystan Haines and three-star Maliek Hawkins, the brother of OU freshman quarterback Michael Hawkins.

Robinson’s versatility and footwork enable him to play various positions in the secondary, and his physicality is a valuable trait for a safety. He earned defensive back MVP honors at the Rivals camp for five-star recruits and was named to the MaxPreps Freshman All-America second team.
