Albion manager Carlos Corberán and forward Josh Maja have both been nominated for the Sky Bet Championship Manager of the Month and Player of the Month awards, respectively.
During the opening month of the 2024/25 season, the Baggies earned ten points from four games, achieving away wins at QPR and Stoke, a home victory against Swansea, and a goalless draw with Leeds.
Albion are among five teams in the Championship that remain unbeaten and are currently in second place as they head into the next round of matches.
Maja scored a hat-trick in the club’s 3-1 win at Loftus Road on the opening day and then netted the decisive goal in their 2-1 victory over Stoke City at the bet365 Stadium.
The Nigerian forward is tied as the top scorer in the league, alongside Mark Harris of Oxford United and Duncan Watmore of Millwall, each having scored four goals so far this season.
In the final match of the month, Maja also provided the assist for Jayson Molumby’s match-winning goal in their 1-0 triumph over Swansea City.

For the Player of the Month award, Maja faces competition from Mark Harris and Duncan Watmore, as well as Sunderland defender Luke O’Nien.
Carlos Corberán is contending for the Manager of the Month award against Tom Cleverley of Watford, John Eustace of Blackburn Rovers, and Regis Le Bris of Sunderland.
The winners will be announced on Friday, September 13. The Sky Bet Manager of the Month panel includes former Barnsley manager Danny Wilson, Sky Sports’ Don Goodman, and Sky Bet EFL trader Ivor Davies. The Sky Bet Player of the Month panel features Goodman and Davies, along with EFL Chief Executive Trevor Birch.
