Hibernian and Kilmarnock are competing to sign Ipswich Town defender Corrie Ndaba. The left-back, who spent last season on loan at Rugby Park from the newly-promoted English Premier League team, has previous experience in Scottish football with Ayr United. Ndaba’s contract with Ipswich expires next summer, and he made 37 appearances for Kilmarnock last season, helping them secure European football.

Reports indicate Hibs are genuinely interested in Ndaba. Currently, Jordan Obita is Hibs’ left-back, but with the departure of club legend Lewis Stevenson, new head coach David Gray needs more options and cover for that position. Additionally, there might be interest from English clubs for the 24-year-old.

This week, Kilmarnock manager Derek McInnes expressed optimism about securing Ndaba. He said, “We would like Corrie. I told him at the end of the season and last season. I’ve spoken to him a few times over the summer, including last week. He probably needs to sort things out at Ipswich, but we believe a deal is possible.

“We’ll see what happens, but we’re aware we need a couple more defenders. We have an important game and season ahead, so if we need to move on, we will. We want Corrie, but he might have other options.”
