1. Sign Mitch Marner Quickly: His contract will only become more expensive, and trading him isn’t a practical option.

2. Move Mitch Marner to Center: Transitioning him from right wing could enhance his effectiveness.

3. Trade David Kampf: His salary is too high for a fourth-line player. Consider offloading him if necessary.

4. Let Calle Jarnkrok and Ryan Reaves Go: Their contracts aren’t justifiable and they’re occupying ice time that could go to younger, more promising players.

5. Cancel Jani Hakanpaa’s Contract: The deal hasn’t been successful, so consider ending it.

6. Avoid Overpaying and Offering NTCs: Stop giving large contracts and no-trade clauses to players who don’t deserve them. For instance, Simon Benoit’s deal should be closer to the league minimum.

7. Draft Higher-Upside Talent: Instead of opting for safer picks like Fraser Minten, go for players with greater star potential.

8. Pair Max Domi with Auston Matthews: Ensure Domi plays alongside Matthews throughout the season.

9. Include Easton Cowan on the Opening Night Roster: He should start the season with the team.

10. Change the Goal Song: Consider switching to “Reign in Blood” by Slayer for a more energetic atmosphere.

11. Remove Ads from Uniforms: The advertisements undermine the team’s prestige and make the franchise appear cheap. The Leafs should avoid such distractions.
