Celta Vigo is nearing a deal to sign an attacker from La Liga rivals Real Betis. According to Mundo Deportivo, the player in question is Borja Iglesias.

Borja, who recently returned to Betis after spending the second half of last season on loan at Bayer Leverkusen, did not have his loan extended, with the Bundesliga side choosing not to exercise their purchase option.

Now back at the Estadio Benito Villamarín, Borja’s stay might be brief as he is set for a return to a former club, Celta Vigo.

Mundo Deportivo reports that Real Betis and Celta Vigo are close to finalizing a deal for Borja Iglesias to be loaned to Celta for the season. Celta is expected to cover Borja’s full salary, which exceeds two million euros net per season, and there will be no option to buy. The transfer could be officially confirmed as early as this weekend.
