Derby County have secured the season-long loan of Crystal Palace midfielder David Ozoh, marking their sixth signing of the summer.
The highly-rated 19-year-old completed the necessary paperwork for his move at Moor Farm today and might make his debut for the Rams in a pre-season friendly against Chesterfield tonight (7:30 pm).
Ozoh made 13 appearances for the Eagles last season and was notably impressive in a 2-2 draw against Manchester City, where Palace came back from a 2-0 deficit at the Etihad to secure a point last December.
Luton were reportedly interested in a permanent deal for the midfielder, while Wayne Rooney’s Plymouth also showed interest. However, Ozoh has chosen Pride Park as his next destination, where he will compete for a midfield spot alongside fellow newcomers Ebou Adams and Kenzo Goudmijn.
Ozoh made his Premier League debut as a late substitute in a 0-0 draw with Newcastle United in January of last year, becoming the club’s youngest-ever Premier League debutant at 17.
