Rangers defender Connor Goldson has traveled to Cyprus for a medical examination, as reported by Stevie Clifford from Four Lads Had a Dream. Speaking on the Rangers Review YouTube channel on July 22, Clifford mentioned that Goldson’s trip doesn’t necessarily indicate he will be joining a Cypriot club.

There is still some uncertainty about whether a bid for Goldson has been accepted.

Clifford said, “What I’ve heard is he’s flying out to take a medical but it doesn’t necessarily mean that the team he’s flying out to plays in Cyprus. I’m waiting to find out more if he’s at that stage that means we’ve accepted a bid if that means he’s accepted a contract. You don’t do a medical before any of that happens.”

Rangers should consider selling Connor Goldson this summer.

The club’s decision to let go of Goldson could be a strategic move to refresh their defensive lineup.

At 31, Goldson has been a reliable player for Rangers, with over 300 appearances since 2018. However, his recent performance has faced criticism, and manager Philippe Clement even benched him at the end of last season.

Goldson’s departure could allow new talents like Leon King to step up.

Additionally, selling Goldson would allow Rangers to reinvest the money into other areas of the squad, aligning with the club’s philosophy of maintaining competitiveness and forward-thinking. This move could also be mutually beneficial, as Goldson might seek a lucrative contract elsewhere due to his age.

Selling him would help Rangers manage their wage bill more effectively and secure a younger, long-term replacement.
