Sheffield Wednesday have brought in goalkeeper George Shelvey on trial, according to a report by The Star.
The club is evaluating Shelvey, who is currently available after leaving Dundalk earlier this year, as they consider a potential move.
George Shelvey came up through the academy at Nottingham Forest, representing his local team at various youth levels. Despite his development, he never made a senior appearance for the Reds. Instead, he gained experience through loan spells at Truro City, Wealdstone, and Mansfield Town.
Forest parted ways with Shelvey in February, leading to his brief stint with Dundalk.
What lies ahead for Sheffield Wednesday trialist George Shelvey?
Sheffield Wednesday have a decision to make regarding whether to offer George Shelvey a contract. If they decide not to, Shelvey will need to continue his search for a new club.
The Owls have already re-signed Brighton and Hove Albion loanee James Beadle for another year and have acquired veteran Ben Hamer following his time at Watford.
Last season, Sheffield Wednesday narrowly avoided relegation, and they hope their new signings will help them compete higher up the table next season.
Retaining Danny Rohl as manager was arguably their best move, and he now has a full campaign to demonstrate his capabilities.
