James Tavernier’s move from Rangers to Trabzonspor is expected to be finalized within days, according to The 4th Official. The report, published on July 20, indicates that all parties involved are committed to completing the transfer, so the 32-year-old’s departure should happen swiftly.

Despite ongoing interest from Saudi Arabia, including links to Al-Ettifaq and Steven Gerrard, no concrete bid has emerged. The Daily Record also reported on July 20 that Trabzonspor’s initial offer was rejected but a better bid is forthcoming. Tavernier is believed to have already agreed to personal terms with the Turkish club.

Philippe Clement is open to letting any player go, except for Jack Butland, in an effort to revamp an underperforming Ibrox squad. While Tavernier’s contributions have been significant, it seems the time is right for a change for both parties.

Trabzonspor, which has also signed left-back Borna Barisic and midfielder John Lundstram, is currently leading in the race to acquire Tavernier. However, other competitors might still make a move next week. Reports suggest Besiktas, managed by Giovanni van Bronckhorst, is preparing a bid, and there is also interest from England.
