Birmingham City have completed the signing of 24-year-old Austrian defender Christoph Klarer from Darmstadt 98 on a three-year contract. Klarer, who has been a consistent performer in German football, made 30 appearances and scored two goals during his single season with Darmstadt.

In a statement to BluesTV, Klarer expressed his enthusiasm about joining Birmingham City, highlighting his excitement for the club’s ambitious project. He noted that the move came together quickly but he is eager to contribute.

Klarer began his career with Southampton’s youth academy in 2016, before being loaned to St Polten. He later joined Fortuna Düsseldorf, where he played for three seasons and earned caps for Austria’s Under-21 team.
