The Venezia midfielder was anticipated to make a move to Inter Milan, but discussions have stalled. Unexpectedly, Celtic and Brentford are now reportedly interested, despite both being non-Italian clubs.

While staying in Italy might seem like the most logical step for a Serie B player, as a 22-year-old American international, Tessmann might be attracted to the opportunities Celtic offers. The success of Cameron Carter-Vickers at Celtic could serve as a compelling example of how a move to the Scottish club can advance a player’s career.

According to Italian transfer specialist Gianluca di Marzio, Tanner Tessmann will not be joining Inter Milan. Negotiations have stalled due to disagreements between Inter and Tessmann’s agents. With this move off the table, several clubs are now interested in the Venezia midfielder.

Italian teams Torino, Parma, and Como are among those pursuing Tessmann, while Celtic and Brentford have also shown interest from abroad.

Last season, Tessmann made 37 appearances in Serie B for Venezia, scoring six goals and providing three assists. With only one year remaining on his contract, a summer transfer would benefit all parties involved.

Although Tessmann has just two caps for the USA, both in friendlies, a move to Celtic could be appealing, especially given the potential to play in the Champions League. While he wouldn’t directly replace Matt O’Riley, who is likely to be sold, Tessmann could provide valuable depth to Brendan Rodgers’ midfield.
