Sheffield Wednesday handed boost in race for £2.8 Million-rated attacker

Sheffield Wednesday have gained an advantage in their quest to sign former Blackpool loanee Karamoko Dembele following recent developments.

In May, journalist Joe Crann from the Sheffield Star reported that the Owls were interested in Dembele after his impressive loan spell at Bloomfield Road, where he scored nine goals and provided 14 assists, despite Blackpool missing out on the play-offs.

However, Sheffield Wednesday faces competition from other clubs. Darren Witcoop recently mentioned that newly-promoted Championship teams Derby County and Portsmouth have also shown interest and made offers to Brest for Dembele. Additionally, Bolton Wanderers from League One have inquired about the playmaker, but his £1.8-2.8 million market value might exceed their budget.

The Owls have received a boost as Portsmouth’s manager, John Mousinho, has denied any current plans to bid for Dembele. Wednesday have already strengthened their attacking options this summer by signing Jamal Lowe, Charlie McNeill, Svante Ingelsson, and Olaf Kobacki.

If Sheffield Wednesday secures Dembele’s signature, it would mark a significant move in the transfer market and make a notable impact in the Championship.
