Adama Traore is unlikely to join Rangers soon, as manager Philippe Clement has highlighted the club’s financial constraints, according to the Scottish Sun.

The newspaper reported on July 18 that the £3.5m-rated Ferencvaros winger is not close to an Ibrox move, with Rangers needing to sell players before making new signings.

Traore, 29, has also been in the news for going on strike, joining his Mali teammates in a boycott of the national team.

Rangers should prioritize signing Abdallah Sima over Adama Traore. Sima, who had a successful loan spell at Ibrox, is familiar with the club, which could make his integration seamless and impactful. His recent form and scoring record are also superior to Traore’s, with Sima netting 16 goals in 40 appearances last season, demonstrating his reliability in front of goal.

Financially, while Traore’s £3.5 million valuation is a significant investment for Rangers, especially given their need to sell players first, Sima would cost more. However, Clement is likely to urge the board to spend on Sima due to his proven track record with the club and his ability to contribute immediately.

Abdallah Sima proved popular with Rangers supporters last season, which adds to the argument for prioritizing his signing.

Additionally, Adama Traore’s recent strike with the Mali national team raises concerns about his commitment and potential disruptions, which could work against him in securing a move to Rangers. Given these factors, Sima appears to be the more reliable and immediate solution for the club.
