The Green Bay Packers may have two important players returning for their Thursday Night Football game against the Detroit Lions.
Wide receiver Romeo Doubs and cornerback Jaire Alexander were both listed as limited participants in the Packers’ practice on December 2, 2024, as they prepare for their NFC North rivalry game.
Alexander has recorded 16 tackles and 2 interceptions this season, while Doubs has 34 receptions for 483 yards and 2 touchdowns for the Packers.
The Packers also had several other players listed as limited in practice, including running back Josh Jacobs, who is dealing with a calf injury but is expected to play on Thursday, according to NBC Sports. Jacobs had also been limited in practice leading up to the Packers’ last two games due to lingering injuries.
Linebacker Edgerrin Cooper (hamstring) and offensive lineman Elgton Jenkins (knee) did not practice on Monday. Offensive lineman Josh Myers was limited with a pectoral injury, and linebacker Isaiah McDuffie (ankle), tackle Rasheed Walker (knee), and defensive lineman Colby Wooden (shoulder) were also limited. Defensive lineman Kenny Clark was given a rest day, as reported by the Packers.
Romeo Doubs sustained a concussion in the game against the 49ers, while Jaire Alexander is recovering from a knee injury.
Romeo Doubs missed the Green Bay Packers’ Week 13 victory over the Miami Dolphins on Thanksgiving due to a concussion he sustained in the previous week’s win against the San Francisco 49ers. He is still in concussion protocol and will need clearance from an independent neurologist to play in the upcoming game against the Detroit Lions, according to the Packers.
Jaire Alexander suffered a knee injury during the Packers’ Week 8 win over the Jacksonville Jaguars. He missed the Week 9 game against the Lions but returned in Week 11 to face the Chicago Bears, only to leave after playing just 10 snaps. Alexander later told The Athletic that he had torn his PCL. He added, “I stayed here the whole bye week trying to hopefully come back and make an impact for the team. It was a game-time decision at that, so we didn’t know until a few minutes before the game if I would play or not.” Reflecting on his early exit against the Bears, Alexander said, “I felt something … I reaggravated it going back out there and only doing 10 plays, so now we’re just trying to get my knee back right.”
