Disturbing new footage appears to show Liam Payne’s final moments, with the former One Direction star being dragged through the lobby of his hotel in Argentina. The haunting image has left his heartbroken girlfriend, Kate Cassidy, in tears, lamenting the missed chance to prevent his tragic death.
“Every time it feels like things couldn’t get worse for Kate, they do,” a close friend of the 25-year-old influencer shared with The Post.
“He could have been saved, he could have gotten help. It’s heartbreaking and incredibly frustrating.”
The footage, timestamped at 4:54 p.m. on October 16, shows the incident just 13 minutes before Payne fell to his death. While the accuracy of the timestamp could not be independently verified, a report from the *Daily Mail* noted discrepancies with another CCTV image from outside Payne’s room, which was timestamped just seconds before the lobby footage.
According to witnesses, the 31-year-old singer had been acting erratically in the lobby for about an hour prior to the incident. One witness described him as “convulsing” on the floor, and a still image from the surveillance video was obtained by the outlet.
Shortly after, the “For You” singer died from multiple blunt force trauma after falling from his balcony. An autopsy revealed that Payne had a toxic combination of drugs in his system at the time of his death, including crack cocaine and “pink cocaine” — a mix of ketamine and other substances.

Authorities are reviewing multiple testimonies from hotel staff, family members, friends, medical professionals, biochemists, and psychiatrists.
Argentinian police are continuing their investigation into the final days of Payne’s life. They suspect the singer engaged in a drug-fueled binge with two prostitutes, which ultimately led to his fatal fall. Authorities say the prostitutes left the hotel after a dispute over payment.
Local authorities are investigating three individuals in relation to the singer’s death, including his close friend, Rogelio “Roger” Nores.
Payne might have been unconscious when he fell to his death. Authorities have also identified Braian Nahuel Paiz, a former hotel employee, who they claim provided him with drugs.
The 24-year-old acknowledged having met with the “Story of My Life” singer twice at the hotel but denied selling him any drugs, stating that they simply had an “intimate” encounter.
