The Boston Red Sox are poised to be at the center of numerous offseason rumors, fueled by their financial flexibility and pressing roster needs. The team is looking to strengthen its starting rotation, add right-handed hitters, and bolster the bullpen, all well-recognized areas for improvement.

With the free-agent market now open, Boston has been loosely connected to multiple players, though much of the speculation lacks substantial backing. However, there have been some noteworthy reports. Jon Heyman of the *New York Post* mentioned on Thursday that the Red Sox, along with the Toronto Blue Jays and Baltimore Orioles, are “in” on Atlanta Braves’ ace Max Fried.

According to Heyman, “The Orioles, Red Sox, and Blue Jays are all in on at least Fried. Boston is looking to upgrade its pitching, and they don’t have a lefty, so Fried could make sense.”

While interest in Fried from Boston has mostly been speculative, Heyman’s report provides confirmation that the Red Sox are indeed considering him. This development should be exciting for fans, as Fried would represent a high-priority target. The left-hander is a two-time All-Star with a career 3.07 ERA over eight seasons and is projected to command a six-year, $136 million deal, a figure that could rise if competition heats up.
