Insider Confirms Maple Leafs Taking Calls on Two Forwards…..

The Leafs currently sit at 5-4-1 after 10 games. Although their start has been less than ideal, there are some positives to note, such as the performance of new goaltender Anthony Stolarz, a strong beginning for sophomore Matthew Knies, and the unexpectedly successful pairing of Oliver Ekman-Larsson with the team.

However, the Leafs are approaching a critical point where they will need to make a move to create some cap space. According to Pagnotta, the team is fielding calls about Calle Jarnkrok and Nick Robertson.

On Tuesday, Nick Alberga and Jay Rosehill, hosts of the Leafs Morning Take podcast, invited Pagnotta to discuss various Maple Leafs topics. Their conversation touched on Jarnkrok’s status upon returning from injury, which could potentially lead to a move to Los Angeles. They also confirmed that Robertson is available and would be relatively easy to trade.

Regarding Jarnkrok’s return, Pagnotta mentioned, “One team I’ve always wondered about is Los Angeles. The Kings have been seeking a fourth-line center to stabilize their bottom six, so that could be a target for them later on.”

While moving Jarnkrok after his injury is an interesting prospect, it may be challenging due to his ongoing health concerns and his $2.1 million cap hit.

Nick Robertson has not looked as strong as he did during the preseason, but he could still be a valuable asset. Pagnotta stated, “Nick Robertson is still someone who would be in play if Toronto decides to make any moves.”

With the Leafs tight against the cap and Jani Hakanpaa expected to return soon, a trade within the week seems likely. Whether it involves Jarnkrok, Robertson, or possibly Timothy Liljegren remains to be seen.
