BREAKING NEWS: Blue Jays Eyeing Powerhouse Slugger After Dodgers Breakout Season!”

The 2024 season was challenging for the Toronto Blue Jays. After an 89-win season in 2023 that earned them a Wild Card spot, they failed to make the playoffs in 2024, finishing last in the American League East with a 74-88 record.

Despite the disappointing finish, the Blue Jays may aim to contend again in 2025. To do so, they’ll need to bolster their roster, and Zach Pressnell from FanSided predicts a potential reunion with former Blue Jay Teoscar Hernandez.

“Hernandez spent six seasons with Toronto, hitting .263/.320/.503 with 129 homers across 609 games,” Pressnell wrote. “The Blue Jays are looking to overhaul their roster this offseason and will target top free agents to improve their team.”

Hernandez, after a stellar season with the Los Angeles Dodgers, hit .272 with 33 home runs, 99 RBIs, 12 stolen bases, and an .840 OPS, positioning himself as a key piece for any team. At 31, he’s likely to secure a multi-year contract, and Toronto has the financial capability to make a move.

General Manager Ross Atkins, eager to fix the issues from this season, could see Hernandez as a crucial part of the team’s future, especially if Vladimir Guerrero Jr. and Bo Bichette depart after 2025.

It will be fascinating to see how Hernandez’s market shapes up this offseason and whether Toronto will pursue him.
