Carlos Alcaraz’s comments have been praised
Boris Becker has commended Carlos Alcaraz for his thoughtful response to questions regarding Jannik Sinner’s ongoing doping controversy.
Sinner tested positive for Clostebol in March but was cleared by an independent tribunal in August. However, the World Anti-Doping Agency has since appealed the decision, seeking a minimum one-year ban for the Italian player.
Alcaraz was asked about Sinner’s situation over the weekend, to which he responded, “It’s difficult. I know it’s a tough situation with everyone talking about it. As he said before New York, people started looking at him differently. But the level of tennis he’s playing despite everything is incredible. I hope this matter is resolved soon, and he can focus on what he loves—playing tennis.”
Alcaraz’s mature and compassionate remarks have earned praise, with Becker sharing his admiration on X (formerly Twitter), calling Alcaraz a “class act.”
