The Toronto Maple Leafs are unquestionably a fantastic hockey team, but their inability to win more than one postseason series with their starting four is a serious issue.
You have to ask yourself at some time whether this squad can finish the job. It also begs the question of whether the players are motivated to. After 57 years of Cup starvation, the Leafs supporters are eager for a change in the wind. General Manager Brad Treliving is among the people who will need to have a role in it happening.
Since joining the organization as general manager, Treliving has not made any significant trades. Insider David Pagnotta of The Fourth Period, however, claims that this transfer may occur sooner rather than later.
Having stated that, everything will rely on whether or not a team is interested in reaching an agreement. To no success, the Leafs have shopped around players like Nick Robertson. Treliving is all too aware that big deals do not come easily. That being said, only time will tell if the Leafs can pull together at last.
