Breaking News: Maple Leafs Bolster Roster with 5 New Signings Ahead of Training Camp!

The Toronto Maple Leafs announced the signing of five players to their AHL affiliate, the Toronto Marlies, on September 11, just ahead of training camp. This mix of veteran experience and youthful potential is expected to strengthen the Marlies roster. Although none are likely to join the NHL squad unless injuries arise, their performances could open doors. Among the signings, Robert Mastrosimone stands out at 23, with the potential to break into the NHL after a strong season with the Marlies. Veteran forward Joseph Blandisi brings leadership at age 30, having been a key figure for the Marlies for three seasons. Zach Solow, a gritty young forward, impressed last year with 26 points and 132 penalty minutes. Defensemen Matteo Pietroniro and 21-year-old Ryan McCleary round out the group, with McCleary still aiming for his NHL debut after being drafted by the Penguins in 2021.
