Paul Warne has disclosed that eight clubs have expressed interest in meeting Dajaune Brown if he becomes available for loan this summer, though he has not yet made a decision regarding the forward.
Teams from League One and League Two are keen on the 18-year-old, who had a standout loan spell at Gateshead last season, drawing attention from clubs further down the league system.
Warne mentioned that Derby County will not consider another loan to the National League, preferring a Football League move for Brown’s development.
While Derby is looking to sign another forward before the transfer window closes at the end of the month, Warne is also considering giving Brown some playing time in the Championship.
Though Brown has several suitors, Warne is thoughtful about his development and the club’s needs. He aims to provide Brown with game time where possible and may consider a loan in January if necessary. Warne is aware that if he decides to loan Brown out now and something happens, he might regret it.
Warne has received numerous inquiries from League Two and League One clubs, with eight teams already requesting to meet and make their case for a potential loan.
