QPR is in need of attacking reinforcements this summer after losing key players in the transfer window. The team struggled in their opening match of the Championship season, suffering a 3-1 defeat to West Brom. The performance highlighted a lack of sharpness up front and organization at the back, with Josh Maja scoring a hat trick at Loftus Road.

Although QPR has had a busy summer transfer window, the club is still searching for a winger to replace Chris Willock, who left as a free agent and joined Cardiff City. In response, manager Marti Cifuentes turned to Paul Smyth to fill the right-wing position against West Brom.

QPR has already strengthened their attack by signing Zan Celar from Swiss club FC Lugano, and they are now close to securing another signing—Karamoko Dembele from Stade Brestois. Transfer expert Fabrizio Romano confirmed this on social media, stating that QPR has agreed to a deal worth around €3 million, including add-ons and a sell-on clause. Dembele is expected to travel to the UK for medical tests over the weekend.

This transfer would be a significant boost for QPR, as Dembele had been linked with moves to Birmingham City and Derby County, according to Alan Nixon. The 26-year-old winger, a Celtic academy graduate, is reportedly set to complete a £2.6 million transfer to QPR.

Dembele spent last season on loan at Blackpool, where he scored nine goals and provided 14 assists, earning the title of Player of the Season. His former teammate, James Husband, praised Dembele’s talent, calling him “special” and highlighting his potential to become a top player. Husband emphasized Dembele’s skill and confidence, describing him as “unplayable” at times and a joy to watch in training.
