Derby County Transfer Window Update: Rumors, Links, and New Signings
The transfer window has been active for several weeks now, and like every summer, Derby County has been at the center of numerous rumors, links, and news. As of now, the Rams have made six new additions: Kenzo Goudmijn from AZ Alkmaar, Ben Osborn, Kayden Jackson, Jerry Yates, David Ozoh, and Ebou Adams.
Players Linked to Derby County:
– Mat Ryan: Linked with Derby after leaving AZ Alkmaar, the 32-year-old Australian international has since signed with Roma.
– Daniel Iversen: The Leicester City goalkeeper was a top target for Derby manager Paul Warne. However, the 26-year-old, who was on loan at Stoke City last season, remains with the Foxes as he enters the last year of his contract.
– Josh Windass: The striker was rumored to join Derby earlier this summer but opted to stay with Sheffield Wednesday, signing a new contract with the Owls.
– Josh Murphy: Derby showed interest in the winger, a free agent from Oxford. Despite interest from several Championship clubs like QPR and West Brom, Portsmouth signed him, largely due to his relationship with former Oxford teammate John Mousinho.
– Ben Osborn: After it was announced he was leaving Sheffield United, Derby quickly secured his services, fending off interest from Watford. He signed a two-year deal with the Rams.
– Jerry Yates: The forward, who was wanted by several Championship clubs, including Stoke City, joined Derby on a season-long loan after being joint top scorer at Swansea City last season with nine goals.
– Kayden Jackson: Following Ipswich’s confirmation that Jackson could leave, Derby signed him on a free transfer, making him their third signing of the summer.
– Stefan Thordarson: Derby was interested in the Icelandic midfielder, along with QPR and Preston. Preston won the race, paying around £700,000 to secure his services.
– Adama Sidibeh: The St Johnstone forward was another striker linked with Derby. Reports suggest Swansea’s £500,000 offer for him was rejected.
– Bosun Lawal: After an impressive season-long loan at Fleetwood, Derby showed interest in the versatile midfielder/center-back. However, Brendan Rodgers intends to evaluate him this summer before deciding on his future.
– Kenzo Goudmijn: The midfielder joined Derby on a four-year deal for an undisclosed fee, as expected.
– Karamoko Dembele: The former Blackpool winger, currently with Brest, attracted interest from multiple clubs, including Derby. However, he has returned to training with the French side.
– Ebou Adams: Linked with Derby all summer, the Cardiff City midfielder finally signed a three-year deal with the Rams after prolonged talks.
– Jacob Widell Zetterstrom: The Djurgarden goalkeeper has been on Derby’s radar, with a reported deal worth up to £1.4m agreed upon. However, the transfer has yet to be finalized.
– David Ozoh: Reports last week indicated Derby had outpaced some Championship rivals to sign the midfielder from Crystal Palace. His move to Pride Park was confirmed on Wednesday.
