Several Boston Bruins players are heading into the final year of their contracts for the 2024-25 season, with captain Brad Marchand being the most notable. GM Don Sweeney has expressed his intention to keep Marchand with the Bruins for life. Yet, Marchand isn’t the only player who might get a contract extension. Forward Morgan Geekie is also a strong candidate for a new deal. As Geekie will become a restricted free agent next summer, the Bruins could look to lock him in early, especially after his strong performance last season. Geekie, 26, had a standout year with the Bruins, setting career highs with 17 goals, 22 assists, and 39 points in 76 games. His impressive stats highlight his value to the team. With the current roster setup, Geekie could potentially earn a top-six spot during training camp, which may lead to an even more successful 2024-25 season. Considering his excellent performance last season, it wouldn’t be surprising if the Bruins opted to sign Geekie to a new contract before next summer, particularly if he continues to excel.
