West Bromwich Albion are preparing for the 2024/25 season after making it to the Championship play-offs last year. As the summer transfer window progresses, here’s an update on the latest rumors from around the Hawthorns:
The Baggies have received a significant boost regarding one of their key players. Although there had been speculation about a Premier League move for this player, the interested club is now considering other options. This development suggests that West Brom are likely to retain him.
Meanwhile, Swansea City are preparing to make an offer for Aberdeen’s Kevin Hanratty. Reports indicate that Hanratty has turned down moves to both Rangers and Aston Villa. Swansea have been evaluating him during training and are now considering a permanent transfer.
West Brom’s Brandon Thomas-Asante has also been in the spotlight. The striker was linked with a move to Southampton, but recent reports suggest the Saints are now targeting former Sheffield United and Blackburn Rovers striker Ben Brereton-Diaz instead. Thomas-Asante, who scored 11 goals and provided two assists in 39 Championship games last season, was also previously linked with Leeds United.
On the other hand, Swansea’s interest in Hanratty is heating up. The 21-year-old has not yet made a senior appearance for Aberdeen but has played for their B team and Scotland’s U16s and U17s. Hanratty has had several loan spells, including with Forfar Athletic, Cove Rangers, and Formartine.
